Hollis
Gardens began as Holly's Herb Farm. As our crops became more diverse,
the name needed to be changed in order to accomodate a more general
meaning. Holly's Herb Farm became Hollis Gardens over a cup of tea
and the vision of having Sunday teas open to the public where Holly's
own home brew could be served. The view of the many gardens are
sure to dazzle guests and the tea will ignite the taste buds.
Last
year, we successfully grew several types of basil, including lemon,
cinnamon, Italian, and sweet. Dill was an excellent grower, often
reaching heights of over 4 feet tall. Cilantro, thyme, oregano,
and parsley also topped our list. For the cats, we even threw in
their favorite; catnip. The cats tended to batter the catnip and
using it as a bed, but that was the point I suppose.
We
dried and basil and the parsely and will continue to do so to sell
in the future.
